1. Auchi Polytechnic
Auchi Polytechnic is a highly respected polytechnic in the country. The polytechnic is a federal polytechnic and it is among the first four polytechnics that were established in the country. Students of this polytechnic are well-known to perform better than those of some universities in the country. The polytechnic was established in 1964 in Auchi, Edo State. Auchi is a very conducive environment for learning activities. Courses offered at Auch polytechnic spread across business, technology, environmental and arts courses. 2. Yaba College of Technology
Anyone who knows much about polytechnics in Nigeria, will agree to the fact that Yaba College of Technology is the second best polytechnic in Nigeria 2017. The polytechnic was established in 1947, and this makes it among the first set of higher institutions that were established in the country. This school is not just an old school, it also has a great academic excellence. The school is owned by the federal government of Nigeria, not the state government. Yaba College of Technology which is also known as YABATECH, offers 64 programmes. The school is located in Lagos State, and it is headed by Dr. Mrs. Margaret Kudi Ladipo.
3. Federal Polytechnic Nekede
Federal Polytechnic Nekede is another polytechnic which ranks among the top 10 polytechnics in Nigeria. The polytechnic was established by the Imo State Government, in 1978. When it was established, it existed within the premises of Government Technical College as a college of technology. However, in 1979, the federal government acquired the school and changed its name to ‘Federal Polytechnic Nekede’. The federal government also moved the school to its present site in Nekede, Imo State. This school has a very impressive academic excellence. It has produced a lot of great students. The institution is headed by Dr. (Mrs) Celestine Ugochi Njoku.
4. The Polytechnic Ibadan
The Polytechnic Ibadan is no doubt among the top 10 polytechnics in Nigeria. It was founded in 1970 in Oyo State, with five campuses (Ibadan, Eruwa, Saki, Iree and Esa-Oke). When Osun State was carved from the Old Oyo State, the campuses at Iree and Esa-Oke became properties of the Osun State government. Furthermore, all the campuses were made individual polytechnics. 6. Osun State Polytechnic
