About The Bobsled Sport
Bobsled is a winter sport in which teams consisting of two to four players depending on player’s choice will make a timed run down a winding ice-track in a gravity-powered sled. The tracks are usually banked on both sides to prevent the gravity-powered sled from running off course. The timed runs are combined and an average is calculated to determine the winner of the race.
Originally, the Bobsled wasn’t a game, it was actually a means of transportation in places with all year round ice. It was designed in the earlier days by the adventurously wealthy citizens to transport passengers from one part of the town to the other. The first gravity-powered sleds were first built several years before the first racing tracks were actually designed in St. Moritz, Switzerland which marks the beginning of the sport. The game became really popular in the Olympics as it is filled with action-packed and passionate moments. Participants try to beat other competitors time by trying to make their gravity-powered sleds move faster along the ice track.
